Did you know that the I-90 Interstate you have been traveling on was laid over a wagon trail?  The Homestead Act of 1862 offered land to settlers at $1.25 an acre. That means for a price of a bottle of soda in 2008 you could have bought an acre of land. Come take an adventure with us as we ride the trail with the James family pioneers setting out to set up a homestead in South Dakota. Along the way you will learn more about pioneer ways and historical information on the towns the pioneers traveled through. Kids keep an eye out for Petey the Prairie Dog in the towns along the trail.  Attached to this brochure you will find a questionnaire, answer 9 out of 10 of the questions correctly and you will be entered into a drawing for a fantastic South Dakota vacation.

Here is how it works:
• Stop in the towns listed on this brochure
• Look for the posters on display at participating businesses
• Read the poster to receive the answers to the brochure questions
• Return the entry form with 9 out of 10 questions answered correctly to the address
  on the back
• You are entered to win a great South Dakota vacation
